Postby Smokanabeach » Wed Jul 25, 2012 12:51 pm

Hi!

Here are other hallmarks that I can not identify...

As I can't find anything, I'm now doubting it is silver...

And You! What do you think about it?

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

They are English plater's marks. The Rd in a diamond is an indicator of a Registered Design, it's a mark often seen on English plated wares.

See: http://www.925-1000.com/registry.html

Not sure of the maker, but it may possibly be one of the marks used by Frederick Wilson of Sheffield.

Trev.

Many thanks Dognose! I was a little bit doubting...

Thanks also for the link which shows 925-1000.com is a real encyclopedia on Silver and Silverplate!
