Medium oval tray (12.5" X 16.5") with the following stamped on bottom:
"GMCo"
"E [Gorham Anchor] P"
"07670"
"16TF"
and on the other end of the tray, a small horseshoe stamp.
The tray is obviously silver plate--I'm curious about the base metal (because it's really quite heavy) and I'm curious about age of the piece. Thanks so much! And yes, I know that the horseshoe is a date stamp for 1905--but that refers only to sterling not plate, right?
