Marks: S&Co

Silversmith + Place: Spurrier & Co; Chester Birmingham UK
(that's probably Chester & Birmingham: I'm from the UK and there's no Chester in the B'ham area that I know of. Chester, however, was a silver centre. I have a silver-ringed a 1895 cane that was made there.)

Hallmark year
1904 1905 1910 1911 1918

Registration date
1886-1901 registered marks in Birmingham.

I have an S&Co silver and sealskin business card case that I'm trying to date (one mark is 925 for the silver content; the other is a triangle)

Cheers

Francis,
Your info applies to an English sterling worker, this piece would, with patent info in this dated format, be an American piece of silverplate.
Regards, Tom

That might be Spaulding & Company located in Chicago, Illinois. They were founded in 1855 as S. Hoard & Company. In 1888 they became Spaulding & Company. Sometime in the 1920's the name changed to Spaulding-Gorham Inc.
