Unknown Silverplate Mark, possibly from France

This is a mark on a sugar bowl from a Tea and Coffee set which belonged my grandmother. On the larger pieces, the stars below the C.O.P initials are a bit more symmetrical, and the P is sometimes followed by a period.

My aunt thinks she remembers this piece from their time in France, which would date it to before 1942. At least one piece also has a number "4" near the mark, so that seems consistent with French Silverplate markings.

The pieces are in need of restoration, and I'm trying to determine if they have more than sentimental value before proceeding. Thanks for any insights in advance!

Hello and welcome to the forum.

One of my French references describes a COP mark with two stars as the symbol.
The maker is only refered to as Perrin. No dates are given,

That's more than I had, thank you! A follow up search came up empty, although there's apparently a Swiss Watchmaker named Perrin of some note.

Thank you! In the intervening decade I did have the pieces replated.
