I've searched high and low for this marking that's on the bottom of a bowl I have. I know the bowl isn't sterling, and I'm not even sure it's silver plated - it could be just shiny metalware for all I know!
The bowl is a small serving bowl, with flowers etched in the bottom, as well as a floral/leafy pattern around the rim.
The marking on the bottom of the bowl has the letters NOX. Next to that, there's a circle - inside the circle is a woman, a fork, a knife, and a spoon all ina row. After the circle are the numbers 1848. Under all of that is what looks like 10D.DEP .
Anyone know what this is? I don't think it's valuable at all, I'm just interested in the history of things. :)
