I have a sterling "silent butler" from Englandthat could be 100 to 200 years old. It does not have a traditional hallmark. It has a D and under it is a bugle with a flag hanging from it. this would be about a half an inch long than under that are a row of 4 hallmarks only with letters in them and under that row is another row of 4 hallmarks with the same letters in them except the cartouche's are different. than under all that is "942 S"
can anyone tell me where to start looking, I do not know if the D at the top is maybe for Denmark, My ancestors that owned this where Dixon so perhaps they had it made for them.
