letters on fish knives

the letters on these knives are EPNS underneath it says J,S,D. could anyone help me with these. they were from my grandma. i cannot find anything out about them. so if anyone could help i would be gratefull

That might be an old mark of James Dixon & Sons, Sheffield, England.
This is one of their silverplate marks before they started using the trumpet trademark in 1879.
It's a variation of their Old Sheffield Plate (fused plate) mark registered in 1835.
