Masters, Jewellers of Rye,"Warewite Silver"

Post by Essexboy Fisher »

Hello, "Dognose" has a post in another section of the Forum, relating to Masters, Jewellers of Rye, East Sussex.

There is a advert shown with a suggested date of 1900, indicating the selling of "Warewite" cutlery. Here is image is of some condiment type spoons that appear to be from the range.

The "Masters" retailer's mark is on the back of the finials and is a bit worn, but I think we can imagine they had the "Warewite Silver" trade name on them and I did find another spoon on line with a less worn "Warewite Silver" and "Masters" mark. There is no indication on spoons of who the manufacturer could be. Have we seen this "Warewite Silver" name before?
