I recently found a pair of Candelabras that were simply marked "Peru Plata 925", although the "E" in "Peru" could be mistaken for an "F". I have pored over the forum and other references but could find noting other than it being Peru Silver. I thought they were silverplate when I found them, but they seem to be full 925 with no weights in the base. Any and all help is most appreciated!!

Jim

Hi Jim,

Welcome to the Forum.

I have no reason to think your candelabras are anything but 925 sterling silver. Plata Peruana (Peuvian Silver) or Peru Plata (Peru Silver) are typical of the marks found on Peruvian made silver. 'AM' would indicate the maker.

Plata means silver in Spanish, if it was silver plate it would say Plateado.
