What does an Eagle Assay with number 2 mean?

It usually means it's from Mexico dating from 1955-1979 and could be one of a list of around 30 artisans but there should be other marks that go along with it.

The first few numbers are generally associated with towns, rather than individual makers. 1 is Mexico City, 3 is Taxco. Not absolutely sure, but I believe 2 is a secondary for either Taxco or MC. There is also a possibility that it is for Iguala or Guadalajara.

Hi and thank you for your quick responses! I just came across a website which had a list of the eagle assay numbers and who is affiliated with them. According to this list, the number 2 is affiliated with Bernice Goodspeed or "ECP". I don't know what "ECP" stands for. It seems like a pretty reliable source. Any thoughts?

I have a book with eagle number assignments that has around 30 people listed to eagle 2 not just Goodspeed and ECP (not even mentioned in my reference) so there is no way to know which one it belongs to without more info. Are there any other marks?
