Jewel/Stone Set Unknown Box, Swedish but with other marks

Post by dartsil »

Hi all,

Yet another unknown box, it has a makers mark in a diamond which at first I thought would be French (KT), it also has another mark which is 2 arrows, each pointing in different directions, the letter M is in between the arrows. Also carries the Swedish National mark of 3 crowns and the letter S for silver standard.

Anyone shed any light onto it, has it maybe been imported into Sweden or exported?

Thanks in advance.
Colin

Hi, the box was made in Sweden, then the box passed the border of Hungary, where they put a special stamp of Hungary (a test of authenticity)

French made, imported to Sweden (three crowns into an oval frame are for imported silver).

On the other hand, KT without a symbol and actually not properly positioned in an lozenge is not typical French mark.
Import to Sweden and entering Hungaary is all we can tell for sure.

Thanks to you both

An interesting Hungarian mark which I would never have found.

From a post a few months ago

This shows the same maker which is Hungarian, so quite probable the box is Hungarian made, went to Sweden for exhibition and acquired the Swedish import marks as well as the double arrow mark as when finished at exhibition it went back to Hungary?
