Another Unidentified Box

Post by dartsil »

Hello all,

This one I am struggling with, the origin, the maker, the date, the full lot is unknown, would imagine its European, the centre has the emblem of The Girls Association so that has further threw me , it would appear that this has always been there and not a later addition.

F.F can be clearly made out. The other 3 marks I can not determine.

Anyone shed any light on it?

Thanks in advance
Colin

Hi,
Can you identify the inscription on the coin (jeton); there are letters above the boat, that`s for sure.
That might give us a lead where to serach.

Hi

Not sure what you are seeing, there are no letters above the boat, been over it with the loupe, only marks anywhere are to the base inside.

Its a planished/hammered finish to those areas, no letters at all in there.

If you google Girls Association badges you should see this same design and no lettering to the front, just the GA to the reverse.

Looking forward to hear what may be said about this box because I have a "GA" coin just like yours and know nothing about it.

Hi,
Viking boat was depicted in Iona silver Girls Ass brooch.Rectangle marks could be Scottish marks.

Over forty years ago, I lived in Scotland for about six years so that has to have been when and where I picked my brooch (not coin) up. Thank you!
