Unknown AW maker

Post by dartsil »

HI All.,

This is a quite superb silver gilt and enamel box, 935/1000 purity, however does anyone know the maker AW marked on the lids edge lip?

From that if identified we will get the origin of the box.

Thanks in advance
Colin

Hi,
I opt for Austria after The Great War (1920 - 1930). Much of the guilloche production of superb quality was meant for export with either 900 or 935 fineness, the latter often marked as sterling, although a bit higher.
Regards
