Hanau marks are not registered trademarks but only reproductions of ancient silver marks.
Similar symbols were used by different manufacturers and familiar or financial interaction between different Hanau companies could be the basis for crossover.

Does this mean that the stamp means that it is not genuine silver?

It is solid silver. They are still in business. Dating is difficult, particularly based on marks; those marks are seen on silver made in 20th century, but also earlier. The image of the item would be helpful.

Define ``genuine silver`` and ``real silver``.
If the terms are referring to the alloy, Hanau products ARE SOLID SILVER made of different alloys (.800 i.e. 80% silver, up to sterling standard .925 ).
If the terms are referring to the marks, Hanau products bear fantasy and pseudo marks resembling old marks because they made reproductions of antique silver from Renaissance and later periods, due to high demand for ``antique`` silver at the turn of 19th century.
Not meant to deceive, unless misused by unscrupulous dealers.

Thank you so much for the answer. I wonder if the object has a fineness of 80% or more? Gets unsure as it is not stamped with for example 800, 830. But then I know that this item is genuine silver and not nickel silver. I also thought that all silver objects in Germany made after 1888 must have finesse, crown and crescent.

There are many German silver items without crescent and crown.
Hanau silver exported to UK had to be sterling standard, otherwise it was mostly .800.
