I manage to see that one of them is an animal on top of something. The auction house says it's french but I can't find any French mark similar to this one. If anyone has any idea on where is this made I kindly appreciate your help.

Dear Trev, thank you for your help. I managed to do it with the site you linked on your answer. Here it goes right now the image. I didn't know if I had to create another post or not. But since you didn't close this thread I post it here.

Again it is a matchbox, marked with two marks. one is not visible, but the other has something that it appears to be an animal on top of an anvil or two letters.

I have been searching for several catalogues, and auction results, but neither gives me results of french matchboxes with dragons. It's known they had several pieces of jewellery with fantastic creatures, but in matchboxes not really. I can find several models with animals though.

I think it's French. It seems to me the head of wild boar struck twice.

Amena is right about boar's head (small objects fineness 800, 1838 until 1984 Paris).
I think there was a good reason for striking two identical marks,it has something to do with weight.I noticed that on jewelry (bracelets,chains).Similar practice in Austria-Hungary (multiple marks on chain links at the same distance) and in Russia (indicating the weight of e.g. bracelets).
The system of multiple marks prevented tax evasion.
France had very elaborate system of exact position of marks on silver objects.

Agree that this is French silver of at least 800 standard, as shown by the boar head mark, used for small, lighter objects. Don’t know why this item has migrated to the silverplate section. It is marked twice to show the object has 2 parts, not as an indication of weight.
The maker’s mark is in the lozenge-shaped reserve, and is too blurred on my monitor to make out clearly.

Would it be possible to see an image of the whole box ? The engraving looks interesting,one of my boxes has a similar dragon head,and I am curious if there may be some similarities ,my box has no marks.
