Unknown 18th century marks

Post by silverstork »

Hello,

im looking to find more info on these hallmarks. They are on a large centerpiece, with loose parts all marked with these 2 marks. No other marks found.
Seller thinks they are Belgium.

If you want to continue with your imgur pictures all you need to do, for a single picture, is to add ".jpg" to the address and then enclose the result in IMG tags. We could do it for you but if you do it yourself you will know how for another time:

Code: Select all

To me, they look like the marks of Madrid.

Saludos.

Good afternoon, indeed they are the marks of the Spanish silverware and the city of Madrid. The castle would be the court and would correspond to the city assayer and the Bear and Madroño represents the heraldic weapons of the city. (The strawberry tree is a fruit bush, as they say towards the XIII century in the Madrid area there were these bears and strawberry trees). 73 corresponds to the year 1773.
Greetings.
