Hi there :
Can not find the picture anymore, so will try without .
A friend has a possible German war time Silver (?) Cross that has only
...'dvm' ... stamped on the back . Have looked for this extensivly and the local Silversmith said it is not a Silver Hallmark . As he speaks German he made a wild guess that it could stand for 'Deutshes Versuchs Muster' ???
Can someone help here /
Thanks, Douglas

Hello - truly a wild guess. No such thing in German as 'Deutsches Versuchs Muster'. Maybe it stands for the organisation which gave this cross - military ? ecclesiastical ? - away ? Best wishes, Bahner

Well , was a long shot ..... the stamped letters looked like the stamped markings used on headstamps of German 7.9mm Military Ammunition ,
tried them too, get very close within 2 letters, but not all 3....!
Thanks anyway , Vielen Dank :
