Hi,

I am having trouble identifying this hallmark, I thought possibly Hanau, does anybody recognise it?

Many Thanks

It seems to me these marks belong to J. D. Schleissner & Söhne.

Hi Martin,
Can you show us images of the whole object ? It`s important to see how it`s made, the technique, decoration, soldering, cast parts etc.

Hi,

The mark is on a pair of sugar casters which unfortunately are not in my posession but I am considering buying them. The image below is the only other picture I have of the item.

Acceptable only as 19th century (or even later) Continental casters, unless proven otherwise, which I doubt.

Thank you for that, I think I will look to invest in something else.

Wise decision.Buy what you really like and what`s beyond any doubt.Otherwise, instead of enjoying the item, it would turn into a nightmare.
