Belgium and Luxembourg

Postby Aguest » Wed Aug 05, 2015 4:24 am

I found this object which I believe is a very early trophy cup for the Golf Club Gran Ducal (G.C.G.D) which would be somewhere in Luxembourg.
The hallmarks I believe are from Belgium, and the maker's mark is in the "Barrel Lozenge" (see Belgium in the World Countries List).
I wonder which Belgium silversmith made this trophy cup?

It could be "Delheid Freres" because the mark is so similar to his pre-1942 mark, this would be 1959 at least the monogram is 1959.
Maybe the plate was actually made before 1942 and thus uses the old mark of Delheid Freres, but it is difficult to exactly determine.
