frruit pen knife maker

I would be very gratefull for info on mker of this mother of pearl handle knife. I think its dated Sheffield 1879 but can not get any info on maker. thanks

Whilst I do not know who the maker is, it is interesting that the maker's mark of overlapping circles seems to have "overstamped" what would have been the original maker's mark.

I have seen this frequently with Sheffield assayed fruit knives and would suggest that the assay office strike the makers mark area of the stamp with their own blank at the same time as they strike the main town hallmark, hence the matching shape with the Crown, lion, letter and makers mark.
