Scottish Maker

l have two items a Salt Spoon Edinburgh 1817 and a mustard spoon Edinburgh 1830, both have the maker A W cannot find in full copy of jacksons any body ideas ? The makers initals are as seen. regards nigel

The only one I can think of for the period is William Aytoun who was active around the second quarter of the 18th century. Best wishes, Mike.

There was Andrew Wilkie who was smithing c1820. Did the mark have a dot between the A & W?

Thanks for your reply, l cannot answer your question re pellet as the spoon has been passed on, l saw on another thread a cd of prov marks ? that sounds intresting

CD soon to come out to go with the directory which came out about 3 years ago. CD shows picks of over 1300 sets of punch marks.
