Can anybody provide a translation of the engraving on this Russian silver vodka cup? i attempted to use google translate but came up with a lot of nonsense.
i think it has a name, followed by some kind of toast, and then a date of 16/II 65p. i think this means either February 16, 1965, or February 16, 65th birthday.

Surprise, surprise, it is not Russian and therefore I at first glance didn't understand what it read. It didn't make sense. However, the text is either Ukraine or Belarus. It says something like this:
Gali na dobrij harosij spomin. In Latin letters: Gali(na) To a good and long memory 16.2.65. (Galina is a girl's name.)
Sorry it took a while.

Yes. Qrt.S correctly translated it. It is a gift to the woman (her name Galina) for long memory.
If you remember Salvator Dali had a russian wife with such name - Galina - Gala.)))
