Swiss Pocket Watch

Postby andyandy » Thu Feb 16, 2006 9:15 am

Hi, just bought this watch at local auction rooms, and would love to find a bit more about it. It has the following marks 925 (meaning sterling silver?) also what looks like two capital 'F' on side with other above and turned through 180 degrees. F F, imagine that through 90 degrees and the second F turned again so they kind of point to one another. Also a kind of stylised capital V, which is quite scripty.

Hope this makes sense to someone, sorry no photo, I cant seem to manage to get in close enough ! ! LOL

Hi Andy,
I believe the mark you are referring to is the Glasgow Assay office mark for imported silver.
The letter may be the date stamp.
Regards.
