William Eley or Robert Eley?

Does anybody know what the mark entered by William Eley on his own in 1797 look like ? that year he entered 2 marks one with William Fearn, and one by himself, the next mark he entered was in 1808 with Fearn and Chawner. The only marks l have seen of Robert Eley in 1787 an W E in an square and in 1795 W E in an oval, the item l have is marked for 1806 (lion passant and date letter L and duty mark, (Tongs) which is london, the nearest mark l can find is William Elliot but his mark was entered in 1810, the mark which l have is a W (pellet) E in an oblong which strangley enough is the mark for Elliot, any one any ideas ??

I have seen a late 18th century mark of W.E in a rectangle attributed to William Eley - it appears almost identical to the William Elliot mark, however the pellet is fractionally higher. Elliot's pellet is aligned almost with the bottoms of the W and E, whereas Eley's pellet is almost at a level with the cross-bar of the E.
