Maybe an Arabic script mark?

Hello

It's not the French fleur-de-lis!

For me it looks like more to be an Arabic script mark on an item of jewellery - because French jewellery, also if it is a Modern one, would be marked with more punches, and more precise as well.

Kind regards silverport

Hello,

Thanks you for your answer.

The owner said it was "decharge-mark for the city Metz used between 1780 en 1791"???
It a a kind of mustard pot.

So you think this is not the case?

»Decharge« mark of Metz, used 1780-1791? No other marks are there too?

Hello ETH

Sorry for my wrong interpretation of the »a-jour« and mark; to be maybe of recent Arabic jewellery? But that happens, that questions are placed in the wrong — and marks, as in your case shown the wrong way. So I must learn to live also here with my own imperfectness.

So I’ve now turned in my brain the by you shown mark 90 º clockwise. But further more I’ve the impression, that the now imaginablefleur-de-lis” is a pseudo mark! Struck some where; but maybe not in by the owner stated time and place?

I had already mentioned in my former answer, that French items »would be marked with more punches and more precise as well«.

Please, would you kindly place here in the forum photos of all the marks, which are on the item — and if possible a photo of the silver work of the mustard pot too.

Maybe the silver work of the mustard pot is made in Hanau, Germany, or in Schoonhoven, The Netherlands, or maybe made recently in »How Now«?

We are waiting on your input of additional photos.

Thank you!

Kind regards silverport
