old english victorian drinking set - need hlep with mark

Postby nefm » Sun Nov 27, 2005 2:46 pm

I was given this drinking set and case a couple of years ago (chalice?) and have tried a countless number of times to identify the maker and mark. The following is what the tag says:

Outside: Old English Silver from the collection of Spencer Orgell, 410 North Rodeo Drive, Beveryly Hills, California.

Inside: Old English Victorian drinking set in original case. Made in the city of Sheffield, Circa 1860. Beautifully hand engraved.

I haven't been able to find any markings other than ABS. Can anyone help?

Thanks a bunch!!

English silver was required to be marked starting way, way back.
There are no hallmarks at all?
They're beautiful.
