Hi Theoderich,

Johann George Wilhelm Heinicke (1792-1855), master in 1816 and died in 1855 as a "Gold- und Silberwarenfabrikant". Ref: Scheffler # Berlin 1695, "H"-mark # 325.

His address was in 1820-1825 Kleine Frankfurterstraße 2, Berlin
http://adressbuecher.genealogy.net/entry/show/1113665.

The problem is that he is actually dead long before he made the item.

The Assay Master (1. Zeichenmeister) that is unknown used the letter N in the period 1869-1882. The second assay master (warden?) that used the gothic F must have been active about 1868--1875 and Scheffler has found dated object from the period 1868-1870.

So your object must have been made 1869-1875/1882 and in my opinion probably by Heinicke´s Silverware factory.

Hope this helps/JAKJO

Hi again,

I have previously seen Heinike's mark on

1. two separate pairs of candlesticks, with the assay marks K and A + diet mark (tremulierstrich)

2. a sugar box, with the assay marks L and D + diet mark

3. a creamer with a bone handle, marked H, BERLIN, 12 L. SILBER, (no assay marks).

4. a coffee pot with bone handle, marked F. E. GERIKE, assay marks L and D, 12 L. SILBER

5. a set of silver plates and a sauciere, marked GEBR: FRIEDLÄNDER, crescent and crown, 800

Best regards/JAKJO

Thank You JAKJO

Nr. 5 was after his death (after 1888) - it means - his Company was still alive in ~1870-75.

Hello, the "H" with the Friedländer mark is not Heinike, but Harnisch, a producer of silverware in Berlin, who exclusively worked for Friedländer. Best wishes, Bahner
