I've recently bought a double silver seal, which unfortunately is not marked. However, the weapon on the seal bears the lions head which was used to mark English silver from I believe (although I'm not sure) 1692-1727 and in 1863-64. Therefore I think this might be an English seal.
Does anybody know whether English seals (especially maybe 18th century ones) are always marked, or help me date this object?
I hope somebody can be of assistence.
