Silver Mark ID

Postby cdwarrick » Wed Sep 12, 2007 11:25 am

I inherited a silver spoon and buterknife from great grandparents from Sweden. "Sterling" is engraved. I am not so much interested in the pattern at this time as I am the mark. I hope the ID the pattern later. There is also a mark with these characteristics:

* a helmet similar to what Crusaders would have worn - there appear to be some kind of markings on the face plate of the helmet
* a "tail" of feathers coming from the back of the helmet
* a "sheld under the helmet with the letter "S" engraved within

The set is engraved with the family letter "N" for Nelson and was given to the next child who attained their 25th wedding anniversary. I am the 4th generation to own the set.

Sounds similar to the Simpson, Hall, Miller / International Silver mark.
