Violin/Cello style fork, gorgeous. Cant identify mark...help

Postby PamA » Fri Mar 02, 2007 7:06 pm

I have a gorgeous fork that' s handle looks like the handle of a string instrument, its heavy and has these marks...near the neck of the fork (from left to right) a tiny circle with what looks like a "w" inside it. Then RIGHT next to it a swirvy beak-like object, then next to it another irregular circle with a letter or number in it, then "sterling pat 1893".
Thank you for any help!

Sound like Whiting or Wendell. Both have a W in a cricle with a lion. Check the marks page.
