confusion over Towle mark

Postby batsjax » Fri Sep 22, 2006 8:51 pm

hi all --> i have seen a lot of listings recently that reference "old towle mark" meaning the script T-Lion I guess....but if there is an 'old' Towle mark - what is the "new" Towle mark and when did it come into being?? please and thanks..

Newer Towle is marked with the name in block letters. My Mom has a huge set of the Candlelight pattern, most dating from just after WWII (some earlier, some later), all are marked with TOWLE, a few also have the lion-in-T. Perhaps Towle could provide the dates, though as part of the Syratech conglomerate, hard to tell if anyone would know.

i took your excellent suggestion and asked the company - and - well - isn't this an interesting response....

dear consumer,
we acquired this company in 1986 and have no archives or historian.

sincerely,
syratech consumer dept.
