Showing maker mark with additional "M"...object is foot long seving spoon (displaying button/knob rest on rear). Is this super letter a date code?

Was able to find the Blanchard (Gardiner MA) practice of adding a smith's single intial stamp appears to have likely continued with the new shops (Pacoima/Calabassas) in California. If by chance this is an inverted mark, then Lewis Wise (c.1950-70) might be the actual maker. However, I have not yet been able to find any "M" name linked with P-B, apprentice or other, so no final conclusion is drawn yet.

Porter Blanchard made no flatware after 1955; it was made by his son-in-law Lewis Wise. Blanchard’s grandson, Troy Wise worked for the firm, is still alive and could answer your question if you can find him. He lives in Alaska. See:

Good luck in your research.

Added for ref.: Technically, a "Dressing Spoon". A matching fork was made, causing these to often be called salad servers. (The narrow profile would seem to negate that use.)

The answer seems to be in this SMP thread: https://www.smpub.com/ubb/Forum17/HTML/000534.html

By searching Allan Adler, SMP has more threads that include the other players from the Blanchard shops. (I'll see if this image can be restored later.)
