Candle Sticks

I have a pair of candle sticks that have the marking on the bottom of PairPoing, MFG. Co., New Bedford, Mass. around a circle that has quadruple plate and a diamond in with a P in the middle. Under this are the numbers 6178. Can you tell me about them? They have been in my family and were passed down to me. Thank you!!
