I recently purchased 12 dinner settings of Gorham Buttercup. The knives are hollow handle New French. The blades are marked stainless. There are no marks of any kind on the handles. The flat pieces ( forks, etc.) all have the lion anchor G mark. How can I tell whether or not my knives are actually pre 1940?
