I am doing research for our local historical society. I am looking for information on a John Owen, who was possibly a silversmith in Philadelphia during the early 1800's. I have not had the opportunity to look at the pieces to see if there is a mark, but we have a receipt and other documents that say he was the silversmith for the pieces. Has anyone heard of the name and/or have any information that I could use? We are trying to gain factual knowledge of our artifacts to make the tours more interesting and of course factual.
