Sterling Cutlery...American?

Postby empress » Fri Dec 02, 2005 12:13 pm

I have flatware pieces with these marks: capital H in circle, RM in capital script, deer head with antlers, sort of cubic plus sign with frills, and S sign with diagonal stroke thru it...followed by STERLING...Looked thru all Wallace patterns I could unearth, but no luck...Can someone please offer a clue? Thanks

This certainly sounds like the mark of the R Wallace & Sons Manufacturing Co. Your "cubic plus sign" is in fact a "&" thus "and sons".

I doubt anyone will be able to tell you the pattern name without a photo!

Thanks for the quick response. Now, when I figure out how to post a photo, I will show the entire spoon. But I did search all the avail. sales and my pattern didn't come up. Is there a website sponsored by Wallace that is complete? Regards, Empress

There are silver replacement services online, which include photos of the various patterns they have available. It is not comprehensive, but sometimes this can be a helpful way of idenitifying patterns.
