trying to find out who made Horis.

Postby shagjax » Tue May 01, 2007 5:26 am

I am quite sure he was made in Germany.Imported to UK 1899 by Mueller but prior to that I am at a loss..Any help identifying who actually made him would be greatly appreciated. And would he have been made for export or could he have been made earlier..thanks in advance.
He is 19ozs, 24cm tall with gem set eyes..

Hi,
Yes, it is a Hanau product. Might be by Neresheimer, I read the mark as a Gothic N in shield, however the shield shape does not match the Neresheimer marks I am familiar with.
There are plenty of posts here on Hanau items, just use the search function for - Hanau. This post will lead you to a good article on the subject -> viewtopic.php?t=6740
Regards, Tom

thankyou.I was confused by your Gothic N because when I turn it upside down it looks like a 12 ..as in earlier grading marks...
