German Spoons 13 + W

Postby cakollektor » Thu Feb 08, 2007 7:50 am

I have 4 spoons that used to belong to my grandmother. They are about 5-7/8" long & about 1" across the bowl. They are made of very thin metal, about 1mm thick. Marked "13" and "W" on the back of the handles. I assume they are German made because of the "13". Does anyone know what the "W" stands for or the approximate age of the spoons? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Denise

danish is also a possibility. Lorenz Hansen v. Waaden born 1783 citienship 27th november 1811 works in 1813 for M.B.Meinert -
Tønder (Denmark)
his mark is LW or just W in some cases.
I think that your W looks like the one in the book.
