German Mark help crescent crown purity 4

Post by PennyT »

Hello, I have a box with German marks: crescent, crown, 800, 4.
It’s not a special box but I’m very curious about the number 4 and if it’s a manufacturer’s mark? I’ve searched the main website and the internet but I haven’t found any reference for the 4. Does anyone know what the 4 stands for? Thank you kindly, Penny

Hello, most likely an internal production number of the maker. It will be near to impossible to find out its significance. Regards, Bahner

Thank you, Bahner. I appreciate your taking the time to respond.
I’ve only ever found things with troublemaker marks so why would this box be any different. I didn’t like their little putti faces anyway. Thanks again ... Penny
