Help to Identify Hallmark on Silver Rimmed Match Striker

Good Evening,

Could someone help me identify the age and origin of this lovely Cut Glass Table Vesta / Match Striker

2 5/8" tall / 359g in weight

The cut looks rather like a Hand Grenade (!) or a Fir Cone

Hallmark reads 800 Crescent Moon Crown (determined, German?) and then what I assume is the makers mark

Could someone please remind me how to add photos to my forum post. Thank You.

Looks like Emil Hermann, see: https://www.925-1000.com/Fgerman_marks_a1884_4.html

If you use Google image search "emil hermann silber" you can find similar glass items.

Thank You, that is very helpful

I'm more after the period in which this item is made

I have from a glass specialist that the bowl is tri-moulded. I thought it was cut - it's good to be in touch with such people

The hallmark could be anytime between 1921 & 1950 - that covers a fair few years.

My contact suggests the bowl is early, therefore I will assume that this piece was made in either the 1920's or 30's

This is all very interesting. Thank You :)

It is the pressed glass base for table lighter.
A lighter was inserted into the opening, and it`s missing.
Early matches were highly flammable and were kept in vesta cases.
One cannot keep modern matches in this glass holder and strike them on faceted walls.
All said, there was a lighter inserted.
