Object/marks: salt cellar (?)

Postby Reeves88 » Sun May 16, 2021 11:04 pm

A family member once said this was a salt cellar, but wondering if anyone could provide more clarity on this object!

Hi , welcome to the forum.
For the marks check out Hanau pseudo silver marks.

NERESHEIMER could be the maker.
For the British importer see:
Edward Thompson Bryant
Is it gilded inside?

Peter.

Hi,
It is a replica of Buckelpokal mit Deckel (hump, node cup with cover), sometimes described as pineapple cup, was a popular German Renaissance vessel.
