The mark next to the crowned G, it could be a distorted Belgian import and duty mark, the Gothic E in a double circle for large work. The mark does not give any guarantee of a precious metal standard of fineness. This mark has been used on metal with a 250/000 minimum gold or silver content as a duty mark. this mark was destined for all imported, unmarked and invalid marked objects of foreign, national and unknown origin. Used Kingdom of Belgium 1832-1869. See: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=56004&p=179915&hilit=Gothic+belgium#p179915

Hi Theo,
Wolf & Knell was founded in 1887, and the Belgian Gothic E, import & duty mark was used between 1832-1869. Hanau pseudo marks more often seen in pair or three (or more) in a row.
