I recently came across this set of silver and have been trying to find out more about it. Looking at various hallmarks, it appears that it might be German, but as I am not an expert, I was hoping some of you who have been researching these things for a longer time might be able to help me.
Thanks in advance. I'm looking forward to learning more from all of you on this forum!
Possible German Hallmarks?
Re: Possible German Hallmarks?
Hi,
Bruckmann and Sons,Heilbronn, Germany is the maker (eagle mark on the right),see here:
https://www.925-1000.com/Fgerman_marks_a1884_2.html
Crescent and crown is German state mark (Reichsmark).
See here:

800 is obviously fineness, i.e. 80% silver in the alloy.
Regards

Thank you for that information - very helpful! Any thoughts as to how I might determine the approximate age of the pieces?
