This bowl is stamped with 800 under the foot- no more signs. Shurmann (cant get the dots over the u) is stamped on the foot. I am sorry that the photos are of bad quality, but it was very hard to take good photos of the object. I am a little bit hesitant if it silver, because I think Schurmann is German, but then it should be more signs around 800, or am I wrong?
Best regards
Marie
Fruitbowl - Is this silver or plate?
Re: Fruitbowl - Is this silver or plate?
Hi,
It is solid silver of .800 fineness made by E. Schürmann & Co in Frankfurt, Germany.
German Reichsmark crescent and crown was not obligatory, meaning the bowl is properly made.
