German silver Jugensdstil Bowl - Help with marks

Post by SW15 »

I have recently acquired this large and attractive hammered silver bowl. It seems to be clearly marked for German 800 standard silver, but it also has two strike marks - one representing a bee and one which appears to be an "A" in a hexagonal boundary. Can anybody help to identify? Thanks

Hi,
I have embedded your image.
The maker (arrow 1) is Koch & Bergfeld, Bremen.
See here:

The mark arrow 2 is Austria-Hungary import mark used 1891-1901 (At least the form of the mark looks very much like it).
