Hi,
Prussian eagle on top.
Hops and barley left and right, as well as crossed hops and brewery instruments.
In 1894 the district Posen (now Poznañ) had 158 breweries; Grätzer Bier.
It has something to do with brewers guild.
Regards

Isn't this eagle the coat of arms of the city of Frankfurt am Main?
There he had a Lazarus Posen factory. Does the word POSEN refer to Poznań or Lazarus?

Hello, no doubt, this is the old Frankfurt skyline and the Frankfurt eagle. Not sure about the symbols at the bottom of the shield. Symbols of a guild ? Regards, Bahner

Hi,
Lazarus Posen was a silversmith in Frankfurt am Mein and it is really the image of Frankfurt and town coat of arms (not Prussian eagle and not town of Posen as I thought).
My mistake - I paid more attention to identify hops and barley.
So, it is connected with beer guild in Frankfurt a.M.

Thank you Ag2012 and Bahner. I have had this plaque for 10 years and I also thought it was poznań.
Thx.
