unusal spoon,Maybe dutch ,looks like English marks?

Post by gsmoggy »

Hello Members

This unusual spoon is 5 1/2 inches long handle looks a bit short, not sure what is was for?
Has a lot of marks, although ,looks like only one Dutch one ,looks like a V ,the other marks look English.

Any ideas what going on here ? why are there not more Dutch marks if it is Dutch.

Regards Guido.

Hi AG
Many thanks for solving the issue about the marks.
Great work. Have you seen these spoons before? I am not sure if the curl part under the lion ,should be straight or stay as it is? (I feel it should be straight to go up past the lion) Not sure on you thoughts.

Again Many Thanks Guido.

Hi AG
Great Work many thanks,

Have You seen these spoons before ? do you think the curve under the lion should stay like it is ? or do you think it should be straightened to go up past the figure? (I feel it should go up past the lion in my opinion) not sure on your thoughts.

Again many thanks Guido.

I believe it is in the STYLE of a Dutch cream spoon. If you look up other dutch cream spoons you will find may similar.

I see what you mean;many spoons of this kind look like this, although the angle is too sharp;I think it is a bit accidently bent a bit too much. Can be straightened a little, but be careful.

Hi many thanks to both ,Legrandmogol ,and AG.
for your input on the spoon,I feel you are correct about it being a cream spoon after seeing the Dutch ones.

Again great work by you both ,many thanks , a friend just gave it to me knowing I collect small silver boxes and other things.

Regards Guido.
