I see image 2 as oblique angle view confined in smaller square on left below image 1. Mark, if that, appears as G-form letter or 6-like number depending upon orientation. The number 34 under the wing is in a style more common to the past (before WWI) but not necessarily out of employment after that. And while the numbers style was heavily used in Germanic kingdoms or states, it was not limited to the region. At least it doesn't contradict your expectation. I'd keep searching for more marks.
