Help with Cigar Cutter

Postby patagere » Thu Jan 16, 2020 8:43 pm

I'm not sure if this is German, but its what the seller told me when I bought it. So I'll start here. Any ideas about identifying the mark?

What mark would you be refering to...the lower right area is entirely blanked out.

Is there something under the bird's wing like a 10 in a circle upside down?

I see image 2 as oblique angle view confined in smaller square on left below image 1. Mark, if that, appears as G-form letter or 6-like number depending upon orientation. The number 34 under the wing is in a style more common to the past (before WWI) but not necessarily out of employment after that. And while the numbers style was heavily used in Germanic kingdoms or states, it was not limited to the region. At least it doesn't contradict your expectation. I'd keep searching for more marks.
