Assistance with maker of Sauce boat

Post by dartsil »

Hello all ,
I am posting this on behalf of a friend,
Its thought to be 17th century French or 18th century Hanau, my thoughts are that its Hanau but would appreciate if anyone can shed some light as to the maker of this very fine looking piece.

The family whose arms are cast and applied to the sides, Comte de Brandt de Marconne. Here are the details:

Dimensions
Height: 6½ in. (15.51 cm.)
Length: 7½ in. (19.05 cm.)

Weight: 15 Troy oz. 6 dwt. (485.22 g.)

Thanks in advance for any information we receive

Great looking sauce boat.. Believe it to be Paris, crowned L year letter for 1727/1728, poinçon de charge letter A crown dropped left, and poinçon de discharge a bird for Maître Jacques Cottin on duty 1 October.? 1726 till 30 September 1730. The maker's mark unknown to me.
