Re: could this mark be german
Hi all
The Hallmarks above are for this wonderful inkwell for which i have been told could be circa 1880 possibly by Rückert.. the only Ruckert i can find is a silver- and goldsmith of German origin, Fabergé workmaster. i have no idea of the marks or if what i have been told has any truth but will be interesting to see how the debate goes, i will just sit and watch as i have no clue at all ...
Hope you all find it interesting ... whoever crafted this wonderful inkwell are very fine craftspeople as it is beautiful,
Thanks Mandy

Rückert was a silver company in Mainz and the mark on the right could be the wheel, town mark of Mainz. The company was taken over by Gebr. Reiner, Krumbach around 1930.
